Apologies due here to all those who have had a terrible time of it in Kielder Forest. The Forestry Commission has summarily closed off a section of the route from Bloody Bush to Kershope Bridge. This is the track from the car park at Matthew’s Linn on the north west shore of Kielder, and a lack of clear signage has led to people getting lost or being forced to retrace their steps, ruining schedules and wrecking the Reivers experience. PLEASE do not take this route. Instead, you would be best advised to follow the road beyond Kielder village up to Deadwater and Saughtree before heading south west through Newcastleton.
